Combine with oregano, parsley, and thyme for a great all-purpose blend. Stir in pasta sauce for additional flavor. Also popular in Thai style cooking. Primarily sourced from Egypt, Basil is actually a member of the mint family. The flavor of basil is best released crushed in your hand or with a mortar and pestle before adding to food.
