What Makes Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise So Special?






Since its early days, Hellmann’s has always been real mayonnaise, featuring only a few ingredients. It gets its creaminess from just vegetable oil and cage-free eggs, with at least 50 percent eggs in every jar. Its signature tang comes from vinegar. It’s also a remarkably healthy mayonnaise, packed in omega-3s and is gluten free. Hellmann’s real mayonnaise is also certified Kosher.




The Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise History






Hellman’s real mayonnaise got its start in 1913 when its namesake, Richard Hellmann opened up a delicatessen in New York City with his wife Margaret. By 1920, Hellman began selling his signature sauces, including his famous mayonnaise spread, already regarded as the best mayonnaise in the city.

Hellman sold two versions of his recipe, including one he regarded as the best tasting mayonnaise his favorite version featured blue ribbons on the jars. The blue ribbon imagery remains to this day, as well as the famous recipe.

    Mayo vs salad dressing
    So many years ago my sister who makes the best potato salad sent me to the store for mayonnaise, I brought home miracle whip oh she chewed me one said that’s not mayo I said there’s no dang difference I found out there is!! I actually like mayo a lot and it’s salad dressing that I do not like

    Not the same Hellmann’s
    The oil that Hellmann’s uses has changed the flavor …I will not be using mayo anymore

    This is my favorite mayonnaise when I don’t have time to make my own. It has a perfect creamy consistency. It goes well on its own on sandwiches, toasts, wraps, with meats and salads. It works perfectly as a mix for various sauces. has a very good and tasty composition.

    Bad product might be a storage problem.
    Something has happened to this product had to return it. I had purchased this product before with no problems, but when I bought this time it was like water consistency. I returned the product and bought another same problem. I have contacted Helmans they are saying the product was compromised.
